In addition to private dental insurance, we accept Missouri Medicaid.  If you are an adult that is newly eligible for Medicaid services, the following is a summary of services:

The Lakewood Dental Department offers a wide variety of dental services.

We emphasize preventive dental care and regular dental visits.  Professional care, combined with good at-home dental care will give you the best chance of keeping your teeth healthy and attractive for a lifetime.

Services provided include but are not limited to:

  • Exams and cleanings
  • Restorative care, such as fillings, crowns, and bridges
  • Extractions
  • Root canals
  • Dentures
  • Periodontal treatments
  • Whitening

Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We accept most insurance plans but are a fee-for-service clinic and do not offer discounts on dental treatments.

Forms of payment include cash and most major credit cards.

Dental Services Elks Mobile

This program, the major philanthropic project of the Missouri Elks, provides for the dental needs of children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout the state of Missouri. Utilizing two, 33-foot dental vans, the program brings accessible free dental services to the areas of the state that need it most.

Truman Medical Center Lakewood provides administrative expertise to operate and coordinate the program.

Patient Eligibility for the Elks Mobile Program

  1. Children and adults who have developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities (DD/ID) as identified by the Department of Mental Health, Division of Developmental Disabilities.
  2. Individuals in extreme financial distress who have found it impossible to receive dental care anywhere else. These individuals must be referred by the local Elk's Lodge. A letter of referral must come from the Lodge. (Limited number of appointments available).

Notes:

  1. Individuals, 1-2 above, must be screened for their eligibility and their ability to receive treatment in a mobile clinic with the aid of local anesthesia when indicated.
  2. The Missouri Elks urge all eligible individuals currently under the care of a private dentist to continue treatment with him/her.

Invitation for Third Party Comments:
The Truman Medical Center—Lakewood General Practice Residency (GPR) will be visited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) on November 16, 2017. In accordance with Commission accreditation activities, third party comments are being solicited at this time.

This notice is to inform residents, faculty, patients, and other interested parties of their right to submit comments to CODA regarding the GPR program’s adherence to accreditation standards. CODA is interested in the sustained quality and continued improvement of dental and dental related education programs, but does not intervene on behalf of individuals or act as a court of appeal for individuals in matters of admission, appointment, promotion, or dismissal of faculty, staff, or residents.

The deadline to submit comments to the Commission office is September 16, 2017. Comments will be screened by Commission staff for relevance and only signed comments will be considered. Signatures will be removed by the Commission prior to forwarding them to the GPR. Please note that comments submitted must pertain to the Standards for GPR programs or the policies and procedures used in the Commission’s accreditation process.
